MARGAO
Aam Aadmi Party Organisation Secretary Prashant Naik on Monday criticised the BJP and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant over Goa’s rising unemployment rate, which is currently pegged at 8.3 per cent.
Referring to the Chief Minister’s appeal to youth not to depend on jobs and instead start businesses, Naik said that, in reality, genuine opportunities are being handed over to non-Goans.
Naik stated that even youths who have completed skill development courses are struggling to secure jobs or business opportunities in the State. He accused the government of failing to provide adequate support, guidance and a clear roadmap for employment generation and entrepreneurship for Goan youth.
He alleged that the BJP government has created obstacles instead of encouraging business growth for locals and has no proper roadmap to generate employment in Goa.
The AAP has demanded immediate policy support, financial assistance and streamlined procedures to encourage start-ups and business initiatives for the youth of Goa.
