The ACB filed an FIR against the Opposition leader Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar in the case of disproportionate assets. The ACB officials conducted raids at Kavlekar's residence, MLA office and personal office.
It is revealed by the ACB officials that Kavlekar is likely to be arrested if he does not furnish details of unaccounted property worth about Rs 4.78 crore and billions of crores of land purchased in Kerala. Meanwhile, Babu Kavlekar who is not in Goa at present has stated "This inquiry has been going on for over 7 years since 2010 and I have cooperated at every juncture. The ACB team has searched my residence, office and factory in the past as well. I understand their procedure and at this juncture, I don't think it is politically motivated. Also, I have all the documentary evidence required to prove the source of all my assets and income. Nothing is disproportionate and I will cooperate with the probe till the ACB is fully satisfied of this"
