Doctors from AIIMS led by Dr Pramod Garg left Goa on Monday evening even as the office of the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar claimed in a statement that “Doctors are happy with the progress and his health condition is stable.” (Doctor) Pramod Garg from AIIMS who is heading the treatment of Honourable Chief Minister @manoharparrikar has conducted a thorough check up... The doctors are happy with his progress and Chief Minister continues to be stable,” a tweet from the official handle of CMO said.

Parrikar has been admitted to the GMC since Saturday night and was being treated for internal bleeding. A team of doctors led by Dr Garg from AIIMS also arrived on Sunday to treat him and left back for Delhi. A new team of AIIMS doctors led by Dr Atul who handled Parrikar’s case in October is expected to arrive and take over the treatment.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, meanwhile, put up a brave face and almost every leader of the party claimed that Parrikar was stable and there was no immediate threat to him or his government.

Speaker, Dr Pramod Sawant, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, BJP State unit president Vinay Tendulkar and Ayush Minister Shripad Naik all said that Parrikar was stable although their versions differed in the detail.

Rane for instance claimed that there was no internal bleeding but Dr Sawant, who claimed to have personally spoken to Dr Garg said, the internal bleeding has now stopped and CM was progressing well and stable.

Meanwhile, Tendulkar said the decision to shift Parrikar back to AIIMS Delhi will be taken by the team of doctors attending to him.

“The doctors will decide. The AIIMS team will decide whether he should be shifted or he will be treated here,” Tendulkar said.

BJP National General Secretary and Goa incharge B L Santosh visited Parrikar late in the evening.

CM’s internal bleeding has

been contained: Sawant

PANAJI: Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant who on Monday visited the Goa Medical College said Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is stable and his internal bleeding has been arrested. His statement contradicts the claims of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane who had blamed the media of spreading rumours and had denied that Parrikar was facing any internal bleeding.

Sawant who spoke to the media after his visit to the GMC said, Dr Pramod Garg of AIIMS who was treating Parrikar, had informed him that the internal bleeding has been stopped and the CM was progressing well.
