SMC chief says Konkani Primary school was being run in AIM school sans permissions

In an interesting development, the Chairman of the School Managing Committee (SMC) of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen (AIM) has placed the Headmaster of AIM English Medium High School Urfan Mulla under suspension with immediate effect.
Action against Mulla has been initiated under section 11(3) of Goa School Education Act 1984 pending the disciplinary proceeding against him. During the suspension period, Mulla has been asked not to leave the headquarters without the permission of the SMC.
Urfan Mulla, however, has said the action initiated against him is based on false and fabricated charges. He claimed that the Konkani Primary school was being run in the AIM school with due permissions.
Addressing the media in the presence of Chairman of SMC Sheikh Aslam and others, AIM President Ashraf Pandiyal it has been allegedly found that the primary classes of Husn Maqil Konkani Primary School were being conducted in the premises of AIM Konkani Primary Schood Rumdamol.
He further stated that it was found during the August 23 inspection that four classes of Std I C, II C, III C, & IV C of Husn Maqil Konkani Primary School was conducted in the premises of AIM Konkani Primary School. He claimed that all these students were found using the same uniform of AIM Konkani Primary School.
“My inquiries with the teachers present revealed that the classes of Husn Maqil Konkani Primary School is functioning in the premises of AIM Konkani Primary School as per the instructions given by the Headmaster of AIM Englisli Medium High School, Urfan Mulla”, Pandiyal said.
“The SMC of AIM English Medium High School noted that the classes of Husn Maqil Konkani Primary School, Davorlim are functioning without any written permission or consent from SMC or Association or from the Director of Education which amounts to a serious gross misconduct on the part of Urfan Mulla”, he said.
Pandiyal said that he has lodged a complaint with the Education Director with copy of the Director of Education to initiate action in the matter.
Meanwhile, in another press conference, BJP leader Sheikh Jina has demanded that Chief Secretary order a detailed inquiry into the appointments, alleged fake certificates etc by Urfan Mulla and associations operating aided schools in Goa.
