Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar has assured beach shack operators in Goa of an expeditious process for allotment of shacks for the tourism season 2017-18.
In a statement to the media, Ajgaonkar assured that the operators would have a full season to conduct business unlike the previous years.
"The shack allotment process for the season 2017-18 is scheduled to begin from 4th September and will be completed by 20th September 2017," he said.
"I have directed the tourism department to complete the entire shack allotment process in time before the season commences. The entire shack allotment process will be time bound and the department will ensure that shack operators comply with all the requisite documents and formalities so that the shack operations commence in a smooth manner."
Ajgaonkar has also appealed to the beach shack operators to comply with all environmental requirements so that cleanliness and hygiene are maintained on the beaches. He has also directed the operators not to violate any rules or regulations while conducting their business.
With the shack allotment being done last year for a period of three years, the issue this year will only be that of demarcating the areas.
