Akash Kandil contest on Oct 27
MAPUSA: On the occasion of the Diwali festival, the Sharda Utsav Samiti will organize an 'Akash Kandil' competition on October 28.
The competition will be held at Jacknim, Parra Tinto, opposite the Polyclinic and is open only for the people of Calangute.
There will be only one entry per person and there won’t be any entry fee. Last day to accept entries is October 27. The Akash Kandil should be brought to the venue by 3 pm.
The contest is an initiative of Calangute MLA Michael Lobo.
According to the organizers, the Akash Kandil must be traditional in appearance and should be decorated at home. They have also appealed to participants to avoid the use of plastic material.
