Mahaprasad arrangements for 2,000 devotees at Fatorpa
The Shree Shantadurga Kunkallikarin Temple at Fatorpa has been decked up for the ensuing Jatrotsav, beginning from January 4.

The annual zatrotsav of Shree Shantadurga Kunkallikarin Sausthan, Fatorpa will commence on January 4 and will conclude on January 9.
Addressing the media, president of the Shree Shantadurga Kunkallikarin Sausthan Kavendra Desai said day one of the zatra on January 4 will commence with a Palki procession at 11:30 pm.
The Ambhari Chariot procession will take place on second day of the zatra on January 5 at 11 pm, following by the Fulaco chariot process on January 6 at 2.30 am.
He said the Vijayrath procession will take place on fourth day of the zatra at 11:00 pm and the curtains will finally come down on the zatra on January 8 with the Maharath procession in the morning of January 9 at 6:00am.
“During the zatra days, everyday morning the Mahaabhishek will be performed by the twelve Vangdis along with other Mahajans. Every day after the procession Aarti will be performed in the temple and prasad will be distributed to the devotees”, he said.
Kavendra said Mahaprasad arrangements for around 1,500 to 2,000 devotees will be done in the afternoon as well as in the night in the Gaonkar Graha of the temple during the zatrotsav.
“Security will be managed and maintained by Goa Police as well as private security provided by the temple authorities. Around 20 bio toilets will be provided by the PWD authorities, Fire services will also be stationed at the venue, and electricity department staff will be deployed to maintain un interrupted power supply”, he said.
The managing committee has requested people to participate in large numbers and make the zatrotsav of Shree Shantadurga Kunkalikarin a big success.
To a question, Kavendra said the annual Jatrotsav of Shree Shantadurga Kunkallikarin Sausthan at Fatorpa is being celebrated by people from all walks of life and by all religious communities.
