Insisting that the battle for supremacy in the 2022 assembly elections will be only between BJP and Congress, the Health Minister said any number of alliances will make no difference to the electoral prospects of the BJP.
The health minister, on Tuesday, also reiterated that he will be with the BJP and work to see that the saffron party comes to power.
“Any number of outside parties may come and try to forge alliances in the State but it will make no difference to us. It will be a direct fight between the BJP and Congress in the elections. But the next government will be only of the BJP,” the Health Minister said, while speaking to journalists at the sidelines of a function in Mapusa.
The Health Minister who is the MLA of Valpoi said that TMC has no standing as the party has not won any seat or even a panchayat ward in the State.
The Minister said while the MGP has tied up with the TMC but wondered how the regional party would benefit from the alliance with a party from West Bengal.
“Tomorrow some other party will ally with the Congress. Will they gain from it? I don’t think so. I am confident that BJP will be reelected in 2022. Any number of alliances may take shape but we are capable to face them. I am capable to fight it out in my constituency. Every MLA in the party is capable to face them,” the Health Minister said.
He said people in Goa and the media should understand that outside people will come and go back after the elections.
“AAP had come the last time and contested…and for the next five years, there was no sign of them. Tomorrow TMC will come and similarly go back. Lastly only we will remain,” the Health Minister said.
The Health Minister informed that BJP has done a lot of good work in the State which needs to be projected properly.
“Some people have criticised us on Covid management but the Leader of Opposition has not said anything against us because he knows the government has done good work as far as Covid management is concerned,” the Health Minister said.
“Goa is the only State which has spent Rs 1 lakh per patient for 10 days,” the Health Minister added.
The health minister also reiterated that he would always be in BJP and work for the party.
“I will remain with the BJP and my focus is how to bring the party to power,” the Minister said.
