At a meeting of the Pernem Municipal Council held on Thursday, Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar said that funds allotted to the civic body to carry out developmental works should be equally distributed to all the wards.
While distributing the funds, there should be no discrimination, Arlekar added.
He further said that the funds are allocated by the
Councillor Vishnu Salgaonkar had alleged that only a few councillors have access to the funds. He also claimed that a group of councillors are kept in the dark while taking important decisions.
In response, Arlekar instructed the PMC Chairperson that this should not happen in future and the funds should be equally distributed.
