A Cameroon national, recently released on bail in a drugs case, was again arrested on Thursday by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in a fresh case of alleged drug peddling.

The accused, Promise Umeh, was found in possession of ecstasy powder worth around Rs 1.3 lakh.

The ANC said Umeh had earlier been arrested by the ANC in 2024 for possessing charas, methamphetamine, cocaine and other narcotics. He was released on conditional bail in July this year. “Umeh had resumed drug trafficking activities and was placed under surveillance. Acting on specific intelligence, the ANC team apprehended him near St Anthony Church, Siolim, while he was allegedly attempting to deliver the contraband to a customer,” the ANC stated.

The raid was conducted by PSI Dindayal Redkar and staff under the supervision of PI D’Silva.
