ANC seizes drugs worth Rs 7.77 lakh in Siolim, one held

The Anti-Narcotic cell (ANC) seized narcotic drugs worth around Rs 7.77 lakh during a raid at a rented premises in Oxel, Siolim, in the early hours of Saturday and arrested one person.

The accused, identified as Shivam Binjola (31), a native of Khatima in Uttarakhand, was allegedly found in possession of 62 LSD blot papers, 12.3 gm ecstacy powder, hydrophonic weed and Ganja all worth Rs 7,77,400. Following the seizure, ANC registered case under the NDPS Act, 1985.

Investigations conducted revealed that the accused was undertaking promotion of music events and was residing in Goa since last 2 years.

Binjola was produced before the JMFC, Mapusa, which remanded him to five days' police custody. The raid was carried out by PSI Vikesh Hadfadkar under the supervision of PI Sagun Sawant, SP Nerlon Albuquerque and SP Sunita Sawant as part of the Drug-Free Goa campaign.
