Further security lapses at the burgled ATM at Agarwada-Pernem came to the fore, when Pernem police found out that the CCTV camera at the ATM premises did not capture footage hours before the ATM was lifted on Thursday night and cash of Rs 18.3 lakh was stolen from the machine.
Pernem PI Uttam Raut Dessai said the police had obtained CCTV footage of the crime at the ATM premises.
"However, we found out that there was no footage captured by the CCTV camera in the ATM premises after 6 pm," said PI Dessai.
"Incidentally, another CCTV was installed at a bar at Parsem, from where the rickshaw was stolen. We will rely on the footage from this CCTV camera," PI Dessai added.
