After addressing the issues of hygiene and sanitation, the authorities on Tuesday got down to the task of addressing traffic issues plaguing the Cutbona fishing jetty.
A joint meeting held at the fishing jetty to address the burning traffic issues staring at the Cutbona fishing jetty, was attended by officials of the Fisheries Department, Cuncolim police, Traffic cell and the coastal police.
Various issues relating to traffic were discussed, including parking of insulated fish vessels along the approach road and the fishing jetty. It was pointed out during the discussions that unwanted vehicles are being parked at the jetty contributing to the traffic and parking problems.
A suggestion was made to issue identity cards to the owners and the fish agents coming to the jetty for identification. Another suggestion was made that the fish insulated vehicles should come to the jetty or on the approach only when the boats dock at the jetty to avoid unnecessary congestion.
