RGP’s St Cruz constituency leaders Ajay Kholkar and Licio Roncon on Saturday began an awareness campaign against the marina project in Cacra village.
It may be recalled that both Kholkar and Roncon had informed reporters a couple of days back that they would create awareness on the threat of marina project to the people of Cacra.
Accompanied by other RGP members of St Cruz constituency, the duo went door-to-door and explained to the people that their livelihood of fishing will be in danger if the marina project is allowed to come up.
“Cacra is just next to Nauxim and along with other coastal areas along the Zuari bay, Cacra fishermen will also be affected by the marina project,” the duo explained.
Later, speaking to The Goan, Kholkar informed that this awareness is created ahead of the corner meeting that will be held in Cacra by RGP MLA Viresh Borkar.
“We will hold a corner meeting here in the next week and we are drumming up support for the MLA’s meeting,” Kholkar stated while adding that they have also urged the people to attend Santa Cruz gram sabha in large numbers to voice their opposition to the project.
