The state government has constituted a committee for promotion and marketing of tourism under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister, Manohar Azgaonkar.

PANAJI rrNilesh Cabral, chairman of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), is the vice-chairman. rThe role of the committee is “recommendatory” in nature, wherein it will assist the state government in matters crucial for promotion and marketing of tourism. rThe committee will finalize and recommend to the government a calendar of events for an annual year and a list of stand by events on which upto 80% of annual budget for promotion and marketing of tourism can be spent. rThe powers to decide on the remaining 20% rest with the state government. The committee will also decide about empanellment of agencies for execution of work for promotion of tourism in the state. rApart from Azgaonkar and Cabral, the other official members of the committee are principal secretary (tourism) and director of tourism. rNon-official members include Ramnath Quenim from Panaji, Lavina Ruzai Rodrigues from Bogmalo, Abhijeet R Walke from Guirim, Nandan Kudchadkar from rLPK Waterfront in Nerul and Suraj Morajkar from Sol de Goa in Nerul.
