The Jan Ugahi Trust in collaboration with the Vikalp Trust and the Big Foot Trust celebrated the 13th Annual Bal Mela at the Big Foot Sanskriti Kendra, Loutolim. Around 1200 underprivileged children from all over Goa participated in the event. The program for the day included interactive game stalls, lunch and culminated with a Cultural Program put together by the children themselves. 24 child achievers who have accomplished distinctions in either education or sports despite the difficulties they face were felicitated and awarded a scholarship. Around 300 volunteers from MES College of Arts and Commerce Vasco, Government College of Arts and Commerce Quepem, Loyola Higher Secondary Margao, Rosary Higher Secondary Navelim, Fatima Convent High School Margao, The King's School Margao, Carmel Youth and Society of St. Vincent the Paul Youth hosted stalls and aided with the proceedings. An exciting stall was organized by The Goan in School. Prizes of the All Goa Inter School Drawing Competition on the theme "Goan Festivals" were distributed.
