The Sarpanch Nayan Naik presided over the meet while panchas and Secretary Sushant Naik were also present.
Residents of Undir-Bandora, who have opposed the proposed STP in their vicinity, have demanded the work of networking be stopped till the new location of the STP is announced. “The sewerage department should tell us where it will construct the STP. Till then, they should stop the work of network (pipelines),” a villager said.
The residents have stiffly opposed the STP in their area, insisting that it should be set up away from habitation. Earlier bowing to the pressure of the locals, the panchayat revoked the NOC it has issued to the project.
Now, the panchayat will write to the sewerage department to stop the networking work and to announce the new location.
