The gram sabha, presided over by sarpanch Nayan Naik, also discussed the issue of villagers renting out rooms and resolved to take one month rent from these house owners.
The residents raised the issue of religious places renting out its halls to public and earning huge revenue, and lamented that the local body was not benefiting from this. Later, it was suggested that the ‘halls’ should be brought under tax, so that the panchayat could earn some revenue.
Villagers from Undir-Bandora said the panchayat should ask the sewerage department where exactly it will set up the STP, as Bandora panchayat has revoked NOC issued to the proposed STP in their village.   The sarpanch has assured to send a letter to the department seeking information on
the site.
The villagers also sought information of the road passing from Goa Engineering College campus to ITI, whether it is a private or public property.
The villagers fear that the road is being constructed to facilitate controversial plots developed near ITI.
Meanwhile, Bandora panchayat passed a balanced budget of Rs 73.62 lakh. Panchayat secretary Sushan Naik and eight panchas were present for the gram sabha.
