For the second day running, Bardez reported a little over 60 positive cases but health officials refused to commit whether it was a declining trend.
“Can’t say anything whether the trend is decreasing or not. In between there is sudden spurt in cases. So it’s too early to predict. We will have to observe the trend very closely,” said Dr Damodar Narvenkar, Health Officer of Colvale primary health centre.
On Sunday, Colvale reported just seven new cases of Covid-19. Four of a family tested positive in Nadora and one each got the viral infection in Sirsaim, Colvale and Revora.
Health Officer of Candolim primary health centre, Dr Roshan Nazareth informed that cases were being reported every day, although the numbers fluctuated for several
reasons.
“It does not look like it’s a declining trend yet. Tomorrow (Monday) we have many cases lined up for swab testing and most of them are symptomatic,” Dr Nazareth said.
Candolim PHC reported a total of 18 positive cases on Sunday. Seven persons tested positive in Pilerne and all were workers in the industrial estate.
Similarly, four persons tested positive in Reis Magos, three in Saligao, two in Calangute and one each in Candolim and Nerul.
17 persons tested positive under the jurisdiction of the Mapusa Urban Health Centre “ Carrasvaddo (5), Duler (4), two each in Acoi and Khorlim and one each in Shettya-vaddo, Dangui Colony, Peddem and Mapusa city.
According to Health Officer of Mapusa UHC, Dr Cheryl de Souza it was difficult to judge whether there was a downward trend or not.
“We will be able to conclude whether it’s a descending trend or not only in the next week,” Dr De Souza said.
Nine Covid-19 cases were reported from Aldona but all the tests were carried out at the North Goa District Hospital. Three persons tested positive in Nachinola, two each in Moira and Ecoxim and one each in Ucassaim and Aldona.
“Usually, no routine tests are done in Aldona PHC on Sundays,” Dr Pritam Naik, Health Officer at Aldona primary health centre said.
Siolim primary health centre reported 10 positive cases on Sunday “ Anjuna (4), Parra (2), Siolim (2) and Assagao (2).
