Aam Admi Party State Convenor Rahul Mhambre slammed Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’Sa for indulging in dadagiri, saying party workers and supporters had only come down to Nuvem to protest and condemn the Saturday’s episode wherein in AAP’s supporters came at the receiving end of the MLA’s men.
AAP vice-president Pratima Coutinho said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should take note of the dadagiri, saying even the policemen had to face eggs and tomatoes hurled by the MLA’s supporters.
“We had come to seek an apology from the MLA for Saturday’s incident. We brought an effigy of the MLA to lodge our strong protest, but we and the police were attacked with eggs and tomatoes”, she said.
“I am not an elected MLA to defect from the Congress to the BJP. I have not betrayed my people. I have quit the Congress to join AAP after the Congress veterans ditched me in the elections. I am a self-made leader, having come up the hard way by taking up public issues, especially affecting women”, she said, while countering the BJP MLA’s claim that she had joined the AAP for consideration.
Pratima demanded to know why Wilfred did not accept the cake on completion of two years of his embracing the BJP and betraying the mandate of the people.
AAP State Convenor Rahul Mhambre said the MLA’s supporters abused and attacked women when they had gone to hand him over the anniversary cake. “Only the Nuvem MLA has stooped to such low levels when the other turncoats did not react in an aggressive manner. We did not go with bombs to his residence on Saturday, but our women were abused and attacked”, he said.
We had come on Sunday to protest and take out a silent protest, but the MLA’s supporters targeted us again. This is unbecoming of an MLA”, he added.
