BBSM yet again ups the ante against English

PANAJI: The Bharatiya Basha Surakshak Manch (BBSM) on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day once again reiterated their demand for promoting Marathi over English in schools.

Addressing a gathering at Panaji’s Kadamba Bus Stand, BBSM member Arvind Bhatikar urged the State government to recognise the importance of the language.

“For languages like Telagu and Malyalam, states are not fighting over what the language has to be, because they realise the importance of maintaining the language. This is something that needs to be done in Goa too,” he said.

BBSM meetings were organised across Goa, including Margao and Old Goa.
