MARGAO: Investigations by the Goa police has revealed that the mobile phone used by dreaded accused Ishwar Macwanna to call the victims demanding ransom, was a stolen one back in Indore.
The Colva police team that has been sent to Indore to conduct further investigations in the case has gathered that the mobile phone used by accused Ishwar was stolen and a FIR stands registered at the police station. A police officer informed that it has come to light that the owner of the mobile phone had initially registered a missing complaint, before lodging a FIR against unknown persons for the missing phone.
Acting district Police Chief, SP Dinraj Govekar said the Colva police team is gathering all evidence and information from Indore in connection with the criminal activities of the three accused persons involved in the gang rape at Betalbatim.
