Bicholim SDM asks officials to brace for emergencies

The Bicholim Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Harish Hadkonkar has directed the officials from different government departments to prepare themselves for any emergency situation that may struck in the form of monsoon havoc or in any other form.

the goan I networkrBICHOLIM rrHe was speaking at the joint meeting of Sub Divisional Magistrate officials, Bicholim Police, health officials, fire brigade personnel and Bicholim Mamlatdar office staff at Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) office on Monday. The meeting was convened with a motive to face any emergency situation. rThe meeting chaired by Deputy Collector Harish Hadkonkar was attended by Bicholim PI Narayan Chimulkar, Bicholim Mamlatdar Madhu Narvekar, Bicholim Fire Station officer Laxman Majik, PHC health officer Dr Medha Salkar, officials from Bicholim Deputy Collector and Mamlatdar office, officials from Venus Chemicals, Bicholim councilors Ajit Birje, Dada Pal, Kundan Falari rand others. rSpeaking at the meeting, Hadkonkar said the fire officials and the 108 ambulance staff have a major role during any emergency, while work of the police is to control the people. Officials from Venus Chemical held demonstration in case of any tragedy.r It was also decided to organise a joint mock drill at Bicholim Industrial Estate area on July 7.

Panaji CJM calls for probe into organising Grape Escapade

The Panaji Chief Judicial Magistrate Pooja Kavlekar has directed Panaji Police to submit a report whether the bureaucrats who allowed the Grape Escapade 2017 to go ahead despite an order from the National Green Tribunal against it.
