CANACONA
The two-day triennial workshop of BJP karyakartas began in Canacona on a promising note to strengthen and unify the ground leadership of the party.
The workshop was jointly inaugurated by three BJP leaders of Canacona constituency, Dy Speaker and Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes, Ex-minister and Goa Commission for SC,ST Ramesh Tawadkar and Ex-Canacona MLA Vijay Poi Khot by lightning the traditional lamp and garlanding and paying floral tributes to leaders Deen Dayal Upadhya, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and portrait of Bharat Mataa.
During the inaugural address, Fernandes called on the grassroot party karyakartas, and especially the newly joined workers to reach out to every voter with positive vibes to develop the party.
Fernandes later told the media,"This 2-day Shibir being organised by party every three years in all the constituencies was planned long back but finally is being held today and simultaneously at 16 other constituencies in the State. This workshop is used to convey and guide the workers/karyakartas as regards to their interaction with each voter. The workers are being instilled discipline, responsibility, principles of the party and how to behave with the electorate.
"This is the process started by our late leader Manohar Parrikar because of which from a mere 2 MLAs than BJP Party increased its tally to 21 and presently 27 MLAs."
"With this shibir, party is also showing how the party thinks about the welfare of its karyakartas, who are the actual source of inspiration for its service to the social causes."
Ramesh Tawadkar and Vijay Poi Khot who shared the dais with Fernandes, also addressed the Karyakartas telling the workers not to get demoralized but continue serving the electorate through the party.
Incidentally, a few party leaders including Ex-Fatorda MLA Damodar Naik, Nilesh Cabral, Dy CM Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar addressed the karyakartas.
Kavlekar in his address informed workers that central government has provided Rs30,000 crore for all round developmental works in Goa. The government also allotted for Atmanirbhar Bharat Swyampurna Goa Rs20 lakh crore by which provision is made to carry out schemes. 191 model officers are appointed under the Women and Child Development Department that is giving Rs7,000 to pregnant women, MNREGA professionals and non-professionals and financial help to individuals to carry on with their businesses and Welfare Schemes.
Secretary Sarvanand Bhagat and Padmakar Gaonkar, Canacona Block president Nandip Bhagat, Vice-President Mahesh Naik also addressed the workers.
The function was compered by Damodar Chari and vote of thanks was given by Diwakar Pagi.
