BJP National General Secretary Daggubati Purandeswari on Monday arrived in the State on a two-day visit, to review the party’s work and to address karyakartas and BJP mandals at different constituencies in the State.
Purandeswari inaugurated the new office of Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho and an upgraded paper bag manufacturing unit, besides addressing karyakartas and BJP mandals of Dabolim, Vasco and Mormugao constituencies.
BJP State president Sadanand Shet Tanavade said Purandeswari will have meetings with booths, mandals, district and state office bearers in different constituencies.
“We have had a meeting with the mandals of Dabolim Vasco and Mormugao constituencies and we will meet with state office bearers in Panaji on Monday evening. There will be a state executive Yuva Morcha meeting, followed with North Goa district office bearers meeting in Mapusa.”
“On Tuesday, Purandeswari will participate in a tree plantation programme at Taleigao constituency and will also visit a vaccination centre at Sanjay school in Porvorim. She will also meet our media and social media teams and doctors of the medical cell, before leaving the State,” said Tanavade.
Purandeshwari told reporters that her visit was to review the organisation of the BJP party.
"From the feedback, I have received so far, the party organisation is pretty strong here. Since a lot of BJP legislators have huge public support, we are confident the BJP will come back into power in the ensuing assembly elections of 2022," said Purandeshwari.
Urban Development Minister Milind Naik said Purandeshwari had an hour-long meeting with BJP karyakartas of the Mormugao constituency.
"Our leaders don't visit only during elections but throughout the year to review the party organisation. She has boosted the morale of Karyakartas in the constituency and discussed problems and what steps could be taken to retain the BJP seat in Mormugao constituency,” said Naik.
