Scheduled Tribe leaders of the ruling BJP complimented Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also holds the Tribal Welfare portfolio, for notifying the Eklavya Prashikshan Yojana providing financial assistance in coaching class fees for the ST students.
ST leader Anthony Barbosa told the media that this scheme has been pending for a long time since they were notified under Tribal welfare.
He further said the scheme will provide financial assistance in coaching class fees for ST students studying in Class X, XI and XII.
“The student shall pay total fees to the coaching institution, out of which 75 per cent will be reimbursed,” he said while making an appeal to the ST students to avail of the scheme.
Barbosa and other tribal leaders have also complimented Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for the initiative to resolve the Forest Rights cases which will go a long way in fulfilling the aspiration of the tribal people in realising their demand for land and houses.
