Mindful of moves to engineer a split among the MGP legislators, MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar on Tuesday threatened to topple the State government, if anyone made an attempt to damage his party adding BJP’s fortunes had diminished with the demise of former CM Manohar Parrikar.
Speaking to The Goan, Dhavalikar said he has his plans ready if someone tried to split MGP MLAs and or even attempted to damage the party.
“If they try to remove Sudin Dhavalikar from the Cabinet or try to split the MGP MLAs, I assure that I will come out with plans, which can even topple the government. I challenge them to try and do so,” warned Dhavalikar.
“We have not worn bangles and they should not try and scare us... BJP has now become just a paper tiger”, said Dhavalikar, but declined to name those who were attempting to split the MGP MLAs.
Dhavalikar, who is firm on contesting against BJP candidate Subhash Shirodkar in the Shiroda bypoll, was busy campaigning in Shiroda on Tuesday, indicating that he was in no mood to withdraw from the fray, as was being claimed by BJP leaders.
“I have been busy all these days campaigning in Shiroda and many meetings are organised on Wednesday,” informed Dhavalikar.
