BJP-led govt accused of corruption

PANAJI

Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai slammed the government amid jobs-for-cash scam, claiming the BJP has forfeited its right to rule the State.

In a video statement released on Tuesday, Sardesai stated the scam has established links with the ruling party with the government allowing corruption, nepotism, and unethical practices to flourish.

“This circus must go. BJP has forfeited its right to rule Goa. The latest arrest in the massive jobs for money scam has established a direct link to BJP Goa which has once again exposed the moral and ethical bankruptcy of the ruling party in public life. How long will this utterly corrupt party and government carry on cheating Goemkars in every aspect of their lives,” he asked.

Sardesai further urged Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai to intervene to stop the saga of corruption in jobs.

“There’s not a single area of activity left in this State that isn’t tainted by corruption, nepotism, and incompetence,” he added.

The GFP President alleged that many of the arrested have ties to the BJP, both at the state and local levels.

“This scam has deprived many talented, skilled, and meritorious young Goans of opportunities for employment. It is a massive blow to our youth who deserve fair chances to get jobs based on their qualifications, not their connections or money,” he added.
