Superintendent of Police (South) Pankaj Singh on Sunday said police had obtained 5 days remand for the third accused in the Bogmalo shooting case.
Ravi Shankar Yadav, a native of Raghavpur-Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh but residing at Anjuna was arrested late Saturday evening.
Yadav was arrested for allegedly having hired the two assailants, Shailesh Gupta and Shivam Singh to shoot and murder a 30-year-old man Amar Naik from Vasco at a secluded spot in Bogmalo.
Singh also said other persons related to the deceased are being questioned and further investigation is on.
The police are, however, yet to establish the motive behind the murder of Amar Naik.
The incident took place over a property deal when the accused shot dead Naik near Ranghavi Estate in Bogmalo.
Naik’s friend, Pritesh Kuttikar of Chicalim, was also shot at, but he claimed to have ducked the bullet and escape from the two assailants.
Both accused were residing in Mumbai and are believed to be professional contract killers.
