A police team is likely to leave for Uttar Pradesh to check for the source of pistols in connection with the murder of Amar Naik at Bogmalo on July 15.
Police sources informed that investigations had revealed that both country-made pistols used in the crime were procured from UP.
"The police are trying to verify if the guns were procured from UP and the source of the guns used in the crime. A team of Goa police is likely to go to UP to check for the source of the guns used in the shooting incident," said a source.
Sources also added that the remand of all three accused -- the conspirator Ravi Shankar Yadav and the two assailants Shailesh Gupta and Shivam Singh -- are due to end and the police is likely to seek an extension for their remand on Friday.
