MARGAO
The fourth edition of the five-day Bulbul Children’s International Film Festival (BCIFF), to be held at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, from October 12 to 16, will screen 84 films from 49 countries and territories, including 26 Indian films, 18 animated films, eight competition features and 17 shorts. PWD Minister Digambar Kamat said the festival would open with ‘Adkitta’ and conclude with ‘The Great Grand Superhero’. Director of Education Bhagirath Shetye, Assistant Information Officer Siddhesh Samant, and festival directors Bipin Khedekar and Siddhesh Naik were also present.
Organised by the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa, the Candyland-themed festival will feature filmmaking and animation workshops, a Foley sound masterclass by Karan Arjun Singh, who has over 4,000 film credits, AI and VFX masterclasses, robotics, science activities, competitions and cultural programmes. Entry is free. Transport, meals and essential facilities will be arranged for participating schoolchildren, particularly those from remote areas. The opening ceremony is scheduled for October 12 at 4.30 pm.
