A resident of Anjuna, Maria Theodore, has accused Calangute MLA Michael Lobo of allegedly supporting a group involved in an assault on her husband and son.
Theodore has now sought the intervention of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, requesting protection for her family from further harassment.
In a statement, Theodore claimed that she had attempted to contact Lobo multiple times but received no response.
“I called Michael Lobo several times, but he is not answering my calls. If you don’t help us, then why have we elected you?” she questioned. She further alleged that Lobo was directing the group to her home, adding, “You should be saving us.”
Appealing directly to CM Sawant, Theodore urged action to prevent the use of intimidation tactics against ordinary citizens.
“I am a resident of Anjuna. We need help. I need justice for my husband and son. I appeal to the CM to look into this case,” she said.
The allegations have drawn attention as residents call for safety and accountability from their local representatives, raising concerns about political backing for intimidation tactics.
