Calangute police arrests another 21 touts

Continuing with its action against the hazards of touting along the Calangute coast, Police in a drive arrested 21 more touts in the last two days.

The persons were arrested for contravening the provisions of the Tourist Trade Act, 1982.

They were booked under Section 26 of the Tourist Trade Act.

Calangute Police informed that the persons who were mostly from outside Goa were found touting for various tourist related activities.

In the first week of this month, Calangute police had conducted an exclusive drive and booked 34 persons for touting.

Calangute PI Paresh Naik had informed that a detailed data of the touts was being compiled so that strict action can be taken against repeat offenders.
