Canacona
The Canacona Police, in coordination with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Panaji, carried out a joint inspection drive in the Agonda area to check if hotels, guesthouses, and resorts are following the rules for accommodating foreign nationals.
Police reports state that 110 establishments were inspected, and around 70 foreign nationals were checked to ensure they were following the Registration of Foreigners Rules, 1992. The focus of the drive was to ensure accommodation providers submit Form ‘C’ within 24 hours of a foreign national’s arrival and update their departure details when they check out, as required by law.
During the inspections, the police informed owners and managers about the legal requirements and stressed the importance of compliance. They also warned that failing to follow these procedures would lead to legal action as per the relevant laws and regulations.
Canacona Police and FRRO will continue their efforts to ensure immigration laws are followed, helping to maintain national security and a safe environment for both residents and foreign visitors.
