Canacona youth pledge support to Congress

Canacona Congress ticket aspirant Chetan Manju Desai held an interaction meeting with Gen Z youth to discuss preparations for the Canacona leg of the Goy Rakhonn Yatra scheduled for Wednesday, October 14.

Hundreds of youths, along with Canacona Block Congress leaders, attended the meeting convened by Desai at short notice.

The interaction provided a platform for young people to share their concerns, discuss challenges faced by their generation, highlight local issues and outline their expectations for the constituency’s development.

The gathering was also used to streamline arrangements for the upcoming yatra. Desai appealed to the youth and the public to participate in the march and be part of what he described as a historic yatra.

The youths unanimously expressed their willingness to participate in the yatra under Desai’s leadership and assured their support to the Congress party in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Former CMC chairperson Rajendra Desai also addressed the gathering.

Others present and addressing the meeting included former CMC chairperson Santosh Gaunkar, former Agonda sarpanch Pramod Phaldesai, social activist Shantaji Naik Gaunkar, former Shristhal sarpanchas Datta Gaunkar and Sanju Naik, Shristhal panch Livia Naik, deputy sarpanch Shiva Deshmukh, Canacona Block Congress president Gaspar Coutinho, Canacona Mahila Block Congress president Ursila D’Costa, Congress leaders Mahadev Desai and Ramu Naik, and local leader Umesh Tubki, among others.
