Goa will soon have its own Super Specialty Cancer Hospital with the Centre funding a whopping Rs 270 crore to make the State government's long pending dream a reality.
Addressing the people at a health camp in Sattari on Saturday, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane informed that Goa will have its own facility in the spacious Goa Medical College and Hospital campus within the next 18 months.
"Goa will have a dedicated Super Specialty Cancer Hospital in 18 months. The work has begun for which the central government has allocated Rs 270 crores. The hospital will be set up in association with Tata Memorial Hospital," he said.
The minister further informed that the Centre has sanctioned another Rs 105 crore to set up modern health clinics across Goa where locals will be given best treatment at the health centres.
"The Goa government is also planning to liaison with Central government owned company to provide the facility of blood tests at every sub health center across the State," he added.
