Says he wants to spread Cavelossim development model to other villages

Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz on Saturday said he is open to contesting the 2027 Assembly elections from Benaulim, stating that he wants to take the Cavelossim model of development to other villages in the constituency.
Vaz said that no major development has taken place in Benaulim in the last three and a half years, citing the poor condition of the children’s play area as an example of neglect.
He added that even the situation at Colva beach has not improved.
“Look at the beautification project. The illumination is falling apart, and the children’s play area is deteriorating. This shows there’s no real development on the ground,” he said.
Vaz said that during his three years as Sarpanch, he implemented a model of development in Cavelossim and is now ready to extend the same to other villages if given the opportunity to represent Benaulim in 2027.
