Sources said that the investigating team suspects that the guards were aware of the illegal matka business carried out from the office. Crime Branch had raided the outhouse office room, which had been sealed previously during the raid conducted by Anti-corruption Branch (ACB) on Kavlekar's properties in the last week. The case is being probed under the main FIR in the matka case registered by the order of High Court in response to a petition by activist Kashinath Shetye alleging a nexus between politicians and police. Kavalekar and his brother, Babal, have been questioned by the Crime Branch in the matter.
