PANAJI: The Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) has now sent a fourth reminder to the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) asking them to pay dues of Rs 22.63 lakh pending towards the management of solid waste during the International Film Festival of India in 2015.
“The Corporation has provided services of solid waste management during IFFI 2015. It is requested to make an urgent payment of Rs 22,63,815 to this Corporation,” stated the letter.
Speaking to The Goan, CCP Mayor Surendra Furtado threatened to initiate recovery proceedings against ESG, if it fails to respond to CCP’s fourth reminder.
“During IFFI 2015, CCP had lifted all the garbage of ESG. Since then they have not paid CCP for lifting the garbage. Last year, when we refused to lift the garbage, the work was done by ESG itself. We have sent them three reminders earlier asking to pay the pending dues. If they don’t act now, we will initiate recovery proceedings,” said Furtado.
