MARGAO: Babazino Dias is the new Sarpanch of Chandor-Cavorim village.
Representing ward no seven of the Panchayat, Babazino has been elected unopposed to the post.
Elections for the post were necessitated after the post had fallen vacant after the resignation by outgoing Sarpanch Estefanio Dias.
After his election, Babazino Dias thanked the people of Chandor and all panch members for giving him the opportunity to become Sarpanch.
“We all seven panch members are together for the development and prosperity of our village. I am thankful to our Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao for supporting us to make development of the village. His guidance and support have always helped us to fulfill people's aspirations,” Babazino said.
He added: “Whatever facilities have to be given to people, will be discussed with them and then with support of MLA Yuri Alemao it will be accomplished”.
While congratulating the new Sarpanch, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao said that all the panch members have to heed to the peoples opinion, which can help to provide better facilities.
“Congratulations to Babazino Dias for being elected unopposed as Sarpanch of Chandor Cavorim village panchayat. My best wishes to him and all panch members to achieve goals for the prosperity of the village. Let us work together for the betterment of society by providing them needed facilities,” Yuri said.
