Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) following the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface of the Moon
Chandrayaan-3, India's lunar mission, successfully touched down on the moon's south pole, marking a historic achievement for the nation on Wednesday. This milestone makes India the fourth country in the world, following the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union, to accomplish a soft landing on the lunar surface.
As the Vikram lander embarked on its descent towards the moon's surface, it did so at a velocity of 1.68 kilometers per second. During this crucial phase, it carefully decelerated before commencing a controlled vertical descent powered by its engines, ultimately guiding it to a gentle landing on the moon's surface.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) following the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the surface of the Moon. In the wake of this historic soft landing, Prime Minister Modi expressed that this moment marked "the dawn of a new era."
"Every Indian is celebrating today. Every home is celebrating. I am also connected to the people of my country at this proud moment. It is the dawn of a new era," PM Modi said. He also congratulated the team of scientists in ISRO who made the mission a success.
