MARGAO
In memorandums submitted to various authorities, CCC President Michael Benny Da Costa said the peaceful citizens of the village of Chinchinim are forced to face constant blackouts
practically everyday and toe Oral Complaints lodged with the concerned Authorities have failed to evoke any response for reasons best known to them.
He pointed out that whenever there's a power failure and when complaints are lodged to them telephonically, they are informed every time that the main line is at fault. "At times, nobody picks up the receiver which is kept many a times off the
hook which make it to appear that the line is busy and many a times it is noted that the staff/linemen attached to the Sub-Station Office are busy discussing their own matters a consequence if which Consumers are forced to stay in darkness and suffer", Benny said.
He further pointed out that when the Cuncolim Office is called up for inquiry, the officials maintain hat the fault lies with the feeder and that situation will improve only when the Feeder is replaced with a better one.
While requesting the department to rectify the situation so that the harassed citizens are given continuous and constant power supply within a period of 30 days, the CCC has warned an of a road blockade on the NH-17 after a month if the situation does not improve.
