The Village Panchayat of Chinchinim-Deussua, in partnership with Victor Hospital, successfully organised a free health camp for the local community. Chinchinim Sarpanch Frank Viegas said the initiative aimed to provide easy access to healthcare for villagers, allowing them to consult specialist doctors at no cost.
The camp included various medical professionals, such as an orthopaedic specialist, dermatologist, ophthalmologist, physiotherapist, and general physician. A large number of villagers attended, benefiting from expert medical advice and treatment.
The panchayat and Victor Hospital thanked the community for participating and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in improving villagers’ well-being.
Many attendees expressed their appreciation for the free healthcare services.
This event is part of the panchayat’s ongoing efforts to improve the health and quality of life of residents. Sarpanch Frank Viegas also stressed the urgent need to upgrade the Public Health Centre (PHC) in Chinchinim.
He said the existing structure is not enough to meet the growing healthcare needs of the villagers.
“We urge the Directorate of Health Services to upgrade the PHC to a ground-plus-two-floors model. This will increase space, improve accessibility, and enhance healthcare services for our village and nearby areas,” he added.
