MAPUSA
The Bardez Bazaar mall gained traction at Saturday's AGM with many shareholders urging the BoD to take a quick decision to start work on
the mall.
The members also applauded the BoD for the smart work in renovating the Mapusa unit of Bardez Bazaar.
"We have been hearing a lot of things about the society's plan to set up a mall. We want to know what is the status of the mall," said Suvarna Naik.
Raising the issue of the mall, another member urged the BoD to fast track the decision to construct Bardez Bazaar mall in Mapusa.
Bardez Bazaar Chairman Gurudas Sawal informed that the society has made some progress in obtaining licences for construction of the mall.
"We need some permission from the Mapusa Municipal Council, which will be pursued by us," he said.
Suvarna Naik wanted to know whether a legal opinion was taken on a decision of granting donation to a Mandrem college and if so, what was the opinion.
The AGM gave its approval to issue 20 percent dividend to shareholders for 2016-17.
Sawal informed the AGM there's a plan start a wholesale unit and a franchisee. He also said the timing of the Mapusa unit will be from 9 am to 9 pm and there are plans to even keep it open on Sundays.
