PORVORIM
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will address a live webinar on the Swayampurna Goa programme on Saturday at 10 am, with education and agriculture on the agenda, as he and other ministers resume monthly live webinars on Swayampurna Goa.
Addressing a news conference in Porvorim, Director of Planning and Statistics Vijay B Saxena said the State government had launched the Swayampurna Goa 2.0 programme to achieve the objectives of Sarvodaya, Gramodaya, and Antodaya.
“Activities under this programme were halted due to the enforcement of the election code of conduct in view of the parliamentary elections. Now that the code of conduct has been lifted, the State government has decided to revive this Swayampurna Goa programme,” said Saxena.
“Every month, there will be a live webinar where the Chief Minister or any other minister will speak on different issues concerning their departments. Local bodies, Swayampurna Mitras, and officers concerned will participate in this webinar.”
Saxena said the Swayampurna Mitras act as a bridge between the State government and the people.
“The main objective is to provide doorstep governance to the people. Maximum governance and minimum government is the motto of this Swayampurna Goa Programme,” said Saxena.
Director of Agriculture Sandeep Phaldesai said the agriculture department has decided to focus on paddy and fruit cultivation and community farming.
