PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday announced an enhancement of funds under the Goa Gram Samruddhi Yojana, giving a major push to grassroot infrastructure project.
The announcement came after Sawant chaired a detailed review of 131 project proposals submitted under the scheme.
On his social media post, Sawant said the government has decided to provide additional financial support over and above the existing Rs 20 crore allocation in the upcoming financial year to ensure the timely and effective implementation of approved works.
The Chief Minister stated that the enhanced outlay would allow more comprehensive coverage of development needs at the village level, with an emphasis on projects that directly benefit local communities.
He also said that works recommended by MLAs from all 40 Assembly constituencies would be given priority, and assured that at least one project would be taken up in each constituency under GGSY.
The move, he added, would promote balanced regional development while strengthening grassroots infrastructure across the State.
