In a veiled threat to people who have quit BJP and to those who may work against the party during the parliamentary and by-elections in State, Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant on Sunday said that BJP will explore all options to bring around the detractors.
“We will take all steps to make sure that BJP wins with a comfortable margin in the ensuing parliamentary and by-elections. We will try all options to convince those who have left or are in the process of leaving the BJP,” Sawant said.
The chief minister was addressing Mapusa BJP karyakartas, members of the Mapusa BJP mandal and the councilors of Mapusa.
The closed-door meeting restricted to only BJP karyakartas and councilors started at around 8 pm in the BJP Mapusa office and wound up in one hour’s time.
Twelve councilors belonging to the ruling BJP group including chairperson Ryan Braganza was present for the meeting.
The chief minister also promised to complete all pending works in Mapusa after the elections.
“I will ensure that whatever works are incomplete in Mapusa will be taken up soon after the elections and completed,” the CM said.
He urged the karyakartas to keep up the tempo in Mapusa and ensure that the BJP candidate gets a good victory margin since former chief minister Manohar Parrikar and former Mapusa MLA, Francisco D’Souza were from Mapusa.
Chairperson Ryan Braganza informed karyakartas of the importance of keeping the tempo going and ensuring that the Mapusa seat was bagged by the BJP.
