Newly sworn-in Chief Minister Pramod Sawant called on President Ramnath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari in Delhi but there was no word over what was discussed including whether a solution to the vexed mining issue was discussed.
Sawant also met Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Sawant who is in Delhi along with State Party president Vinay Tendulkar, Organisational Secretary Satish Dhond and Treasurer Sunil Desai is also expected to attend the party’s central election committee which will finalise the names for the two Lok Sabha seats and four bypoll seats.
Sawant however, didn’t reveal if any issues of significance including the issue of resumption of mining arose during his discussions with the Central leaders.
