Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday took the first steps in surmounting the biggest challenge of his stewardship of the BJP-led coalition of government -- managing the top layer of the bureaucracy comprising officers of the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS).
A greenhorn in matters of administration, Sawant held a series of meetings with the IAS, IPS and IFS officers, men and women who occupy the top layer of his government’s executive, where he impressed on them to identify areas to improve delivery to the people.
A statement issued by his office said, Sawant discussed wide ranging issues on delivering good governance to the people.
“The officials were directed to identify key challenges in departments for improving efficiency, simplifying public service delivery in a definite time frame and review all schemes,” the statement said.
