MARGAO
South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus on Thursday transferred Upper Divisional Clerks (UDCs) and Lower Divisional Clerks (LDCs) to assist in handling mutation cases as part of efforts to streamline their disposal.
The move comes a day after the Collector redistributed Salcete’s mutation cases village-wise among the Mamlatdar and Joint Mamlatdars.
As per the order, the transferred staff will handle mutation cases dealt with by the respective revenue officials. Their attendance and leave records will be maintained by the offices where they are deployed, while certified monthly attendance statements must be forwarded to their parent offices by the first working day of every succeeding month.
The order directs the controlling officers to relieve the officials immediately and report compliance to the Collector’s office.
The administrative changes follow a memorandum submitted earlier this week by the South Goa Advocates Association, which demanded streamlined disposal of mutation cases and an end to corruption.
On Wednesday, the Collector had directed the concerned Mamlatdar and Joint Mamlatdars to complete the handover and takeover of pending mutation files and related records wherever jurisdiction had changed, under proper acknowledgement, within two days.
